Ancient Hanoi’s architectural constructions

(CPV) – The combination between ancient architectural constructions imbued with the Vietnamese identity and constructions from the French colonial period creates both ancient and modern Hanoi.

 

 Dien Huu pagoda – an outstanding construction from the Ly dynasty

 

 The Temple of Literature, built in 1070, was Vietnam’s first university.

Thang Long Royal Citadel recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 2010

 

 The Great Opera House was built between 1902 – 1911.

 

 A church designed and built by the French is located in the ancient quarters.

 

 The building of the Supreme People’s Court with ancient European architecture.

 The current Government Guest House with ancient French architecture

 

 The National Museum of History

 

 As time passes by, the ancient and modern architectural characteristics co-exist on Hanoi streets, bringing special historic and cultural values.
