Nearly 200 ancient objects introduced

On November 15 an exhibition opened at the Museum of Da Nang City in which nearly 200 ancient objects of diverse materials dating thousands of years ago, holding great cultural and historical significance, were introduced to the public.

For the first time, 9 collectors announced the objects which date from the Champa age; Ly, Tran, Le to Nguyen dynasties; and from the fourth to the 20th century.

Some of the exhibits introduced:

 

 Wooden Buddhist statue from the 19th – 20th century

 

 A copper collection from the Champa age, 4th – 5th century

 

 A set for raw fish and vegetables made from porcelain, dated to the 19th century

 

 Ancient pottery objects from Japan, dated from the 19th century

 

 10th century Champa pottery object

 

 A collection of weapons

 

 Buddhist statue

 

 A group of worshiping objects dated from the 19th century

 

 Tobacco pipe made from terracotta dated from the 12th – 13th centuries

 

 A folding screen made from nacre, of the 19th – 20th centuries
