“Discover Red River Civilization” festival opens in Hanoi

The National Tourism Year 2013 under the theme “Discover Red River Civilization” held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is being celebrated at the Vietnam Culture and Arts Exhibition Centre, Hoa Lu, Hanoi.

The event includes many festivals and cultural activities linked to the Red River civilization, such as Red River Delta food fairs; photo exhibition with the theme “Discover Red River Civilization”; amateur opera theatre assembly; village festivals; performing arts; and workshops on tourism development in Red River Delta provinces.

The program aims to promote the image of Vietnam, its land and people to international friends, as well as bring more investment to the national tourism sector. This is also a part of activities to mark Vietnam’s Culture Heritage Day (November 23).
