Thiet Ung village, Van Ha commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi, is famous for its skilfully made engraved wood products.
Visiting Van Ha today, visitors will find an animated atmosphere of noisy machines, saws, hammers and chisels, as well as the laughter of artisans absorbed in their work.
After many ups and downs, today the village still preserves its traditional career, with about 200 families in Thiet Ung still doing carpentry. Engraved wood products made here are still unique, and are the choice of a large number of customers.
Recently, the artisans at the village have invested in engraving machines to increase labour productivity and to deliver ordered products faster. At present, there are 7 families using such engraving machines.
