Warm and profound “Truong Sa Spring 2013”

A cultural exchange programme entitled “Spring on Spratly Islands” took place in Hanoi on January 5th to welcome the New Year 2013.

The event was jointly held by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Online Newspaper under the Party Central Committee Commission of Education and Communication, the Department of Press under the Ministry of Information and Communication, and the Television Magazine under Vietnam Television (VTV). It was broadcast live on VTV1 and VTV4.

The program serves as a bridge of communication to further enhance the spirit, awareness and responsibility of domestic and overseas fellow-citizens, commanders and soldiers in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the nation.

 

The program was attended by Party and State leaders and
 representatives from ministries, sectors and departments
 in provinces and Hanoi.
 

On behalf of the Party and State, Mr. Uong Chu Luu, Member of the
Party Central Committee and Deputy Chairman of the National
 Assembly, delivered a speech at the event.

Songs, full of feeling about the Spratleys, expressing the compassion
 of compatriots of the whole country toward the islands,
 were sung during the art program.

Chronicles and reports about the sea and islands contribute to raising
 awareness of the life, great sacrifice and resilient will of soldiers
 and people on Truong Sa islands.
 

During the program, the audience had chance to meet and exchange
 with Mr. Nguyen The Ky, Deputy Head of the Central Commission for
 Propaganda and Education, about his good and deep sentiments
 for soldiers on the islands.

Representative for the Vietnamese People’s Navy, rear-admiral
Nguyen Ngoc Tuong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnamese
People’s Navy, told about the experiences of island soldiers, moving
stories about the lives of soldiers and people on Truong Sa
 Archipelago and other islands of the nation.
 

On behalf of the organizers, Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Editor-in-chief of
the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, presented the
gift of donors to soldiers and people in Truong Sa Island district.
 

 

 Another gift was presented to soldiers and people
 of Truong Sa Island district.

The organizing board presented campaign medals to donors
 who contributed to make the program successful.

The significant art program ended.
