Student volunteers support highland compatriots

On the occasion of the 82nd founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26/3/1931 - 26/3/2013), a delegation of voluntary students presented scholarships, books and study aids for the pupils; diagnosing, treating diseases and issuing medicine free for the compatriots of Vi Xuyen district.

The Executive Board of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam’s Journalist Association and Communist Party Magazine, in collaboration with young doctors of Bach Mai hospital and Euro France Medical Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company presented dozens of scholarships, 100 helmets, books and study aids for primary and secondary schools in Quang Ngan commune, and diagnosed and treated diseases and issued medicine free for the compatriots of Quang Ngan commune, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province.

 The primary and secondary schools in Quang Ngan commune serve 352 students.
Beside the head office, there are 6 classes being put on remotely,
about 10-15 km from the school

The delegation of the Voluntary Youth of the VOV, the Nhan Dan Newspaper,
 the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Communist Party Magazine presented
dozens of scholarships, books and study aids worth VND18 million
 for disadvantaged students

Only small gifts, they are an encouragement to help children
put more effort into their studying and training

 The school has two boarding areas with 180 students, they live in a room
 like this, with two children sharing a bed

 All personal items are stored in a cabinet with utensils handmade from water bottles

 The school encourages students to contribute firewood and the
 local people will cook for them

 For each meal, the chef cooks four large pots of rice like this

 Along with gifts, young doctors from Bach Mai Hospital conducted diagnosis
and treatment of diseases free for Quang Ngan people

 Meanwhile, they provided consultation and free medicines for nearly
 200 citizens at 8 villages in the commune

 The people being examined were mainly the elderly, women and children

 Many old people came from villages dozens of kilometres away

 Many mothers were advised by the young doctors on the way
 to care for and raise children
