Unique beauty in northern province’s plateau

Situated only about 150 kilometres from Hanoi, Dong Cao plateau in Thach Son commune, Son Dong district of the northern province of Bac Giang still keeps its original beauty with green grasslands, unique rock formations and friendly local residents.

The road to Dong Cao plateau is wide and only 5 kilometres from the centre of Van Son commune. However, it is dirt road with some steep slopes and sharp turns.

Dong Cao plateau includes successive green grass covered mountains.

Unique rock formations are scattered around the plateau.

A few Dao ethnic minority people’s houses sit beside mountain streams.

With large grass grounds, Dong Cao is an ideal place for camping.

Poetic scenery with the vision from the highland.

Animals are fed around the plateau.

However, Dong Cao plateau has not yet become a popular destination for tourists.

Children here are fairly timid when meeting strangers.

According to local residents, over the past one year, tourists have begun to come to the plateau to camp at the weekend.

The Bac Giang provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has worked out a plan to turn Dong Cao plateau into a tourism area.
