Happy lunar new year for some Asian countries

(CPV) – In April every year, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations holds a friendly exchange program titled “Happy lunar new year for some Asian countries” in Hanoi.
This is one of the meaningful events, contributing to strengthening understanding, solidarity and strong attachment between Hanoi people and international friends, especially Asian people.

The program opened with a Lam vong dancing act performance by Lao students who are learning in Vietnam |

Mr. Dao Van Binh, Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations addressed the event |

Representatives from Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist monks and nuns from Laos and India held an incense-offering ceremony before the Buddha altar |
|
And carried out the Buddha Bathing Ritual, an important ritual in the traditional lunar new year of countries including Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar |

The deputies together participated in the “Lao sacred thread ritual” (the ritual of tying thread around the wrist), a integral ritual in the Lao traditional lunar new year |

The event was attended by crowds of monks from Laos and Thailand |

Deputies exchanged and performed the Lam vong dance with the Laos’ artists and students in Vietnam |

On behalf of international friends, the Indian ambassador to Vietnam, Mr Ranjit Rae, expressed appreciation to the organizing board for holding the exchange program |
