Apart from the swinging Han River bridge, Danang City, known as “the city of light” has Rong (Dragon River) Bridge registering for Guinness World Records, Tran Thi Ly Bridge with the shape of a sail, Thuan Phuoc suspension bridge which is the biggest of this kind in Vietnam, and Nguyen Van Troi Bridge which is made of scarce poni steel frame.

In late March, Danang City inaugurated two bridges, Tran Thi Ly and Rong Bridges over the Han River, right on the 38th celebration of the liberation of Danang City. Not only to link the two banks of Han River for people’s welfare, the six bridges in Danang City are also destinations for tourism.

Highly assessed for its unique architectural representation of a dragon raising up its body to the sea, Rong Bridge has been registered for a Guinness World Record of the world's biggest steel dragon.

The dragon’s head and tail are designed based on the model of a dragon dating back to the Ly Dynasty. The dragon’s head can eject fire and water. The bridge was inaugurated in July 2009 with a total investment of VND1.7 trillion and completed four years later, with a length of 666 metres.

Completed on the same day with Rong Bridge with a length of 731 metres and a width of 34.5 metres, Tran Thi Ly Bridge has a design of a sail. The bridge was inaugurated in April 2010, with project capital of over VND1.7 trillion.

The swinging bridge over Han River is rather famous since it is the first such swinging bridge designed and built by Vietnamese engineers and workers. Its construction starting in 1998 and completing in 2000, it is nearly 500 metres in length and 12 metres in width, linking two central roads of Hai Chau and Son Tra districts. Everyday, at one a.m, the central part of the bridge swings 90 degrees to open a passage for big ships to pass by. This attracts people and tourists to Danang City.

Situated right at the sea gate, the suspension Thuan Phuoc Bridge is 1.8 kilometres long and 18 metres wide, built between 2003 and 2009 with a total capital of nearly VND1 trillion. This is the biggest suspension bridge of Vietnam with a brilliant lighting system.

Nguyen Van Troi is the oldest one. Completed in 1965 by American’s RMK with scarce poni steel vault. It is named after Vietnam’s hero Nguyen Van Troi.

Nguyen Van Troi Bridge consists of 14 spans in poni steel frames. It is over 500 metres in length and 10.5 metres in width without pavements for pedestrians. It was repaired in 1978 and 1996. At present, the bridge is kept as a souvenir for Danang City to serve pedestrians.
