Vietnam dairy products joint-stock company (Vinamilk) has recently put into operation a factory in the southern province of Binh Duong with a capital of VND2 trillion and a productivity of 54,000 tonnes of milk each year.

The project is a part of the plan to become one of 50 largest milk enterprises of the world, with a turnover of USD3 billion by 2017.

At present, Vinamilk products are available in 26 markets in the world. Half of Vinamilk powdered products are exported to foreign countries.

According to Ms Mai Kieu Lien, putting the factory into operation will help Vinamilk obtain an expected turnover of VND33 trillion in 2013, with pretax profit of VND7.8 trillion and post-tax profit of VND6.2 trillion.

Despite the difficult economic situation, Vinamilk has maintained 30% in growth each year over the past five years.

Vinamilk accounts for 75% of sweetened condensed milk, 90% of yoghurt, 50% of fresh milk and 30% of powdered milk sold in Vietnam.

Here are photos from the recently operated factory of Vinamilk:

The factory was built on 6 hectares, with an area of 35,000 square metres and the drying tower floor of nearly 20,000 square metres.

Two drying towers with diameter of 13.6 metres and height of 32 metres make this the largest and most modern drying tower system of the Asian region.

The factory uses technologies and devices suitable for making children’s powdered milk, ensuring that nutrition, vitamins and minerals are not lost during the processing.

Modern devices and technologies help to reduce energy consumption and production costs, bringing products of best quality and high economic value.

The factory uses a highly automated system with an alert linked to all inspection and control indicators, helping to minimise errors during operation and limit need for direct labourers.

The factory has a productivity of 54,000 tonnes of powdered milk each year.

Vinamilk will present the factory's first 10,000 cans of powdered milk, worth VND1 billion, to poor and disabled children.
