Lighthouses on Spratly archipelago

On Spratly Archipelago has nine lighthouses on Song Tu Tay, Da Lat, An Bang, Son Ca, Da Tay, Tien Nu, Big Spratly, Nam Yet and Sinh Ton islands. Each lighthouse holds a specific story as they have different colours, shapes and lights. Lighthouses are considered the nation’s “magic eyes” at the East Sea.
Sinh Ton Island lighthouse
It was inaugurated in 2011, 23 metres high and can be seen for 20 nautical miles by ships and boats.

Song Tu Tay island lighthouse
It is the first lighthouse built on Spratly archipelago in 1993 with round architecture, which is favoured for lighthouse building. Its light, in white and flashes every 15 seconds, can be seen from 17 nautical miles.

Da Lat island lighthouse
It is 42 metres high. Its light flashes every 5 seconds. Put into operation since 1994, the lighthouse has helped boats and ships define their position within 18 nautical miles at night and 15 nautical miles at day.

Son Ca island lighthouse
Put into operation since 2010, it is 28 metres high. It attracts the attention of viewers with its eye-catching colours. Its light can be seen from 15 nautical miles.

Big Spratly island lighthouse
Built between 2006-2007, Big Spratly island lighthouse is 25 metres high. Its light flashes every 10 seconds and can been seen by boats and ships from 18 nautical miles.
