Indian naval ships visit Da Nang

On June 4th, four Indian naval ships carrying 1,200 officers and sailors docked at the Tien Sa Port in Da Nang city to conduct exchanges with Vietnam’s navy from June 4th to 8th on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India.

The four Indian naval vessels include the guided missile destroyer INS Satpura (F48), the logistics ship INS Shakti (A57), the destroyer INS Ranvijay (D55) and the corvette INS Kirch (P62).

During the visit to Vietnam, the Indian Navy will have many activities such as organizing tours to the ships for the Indian community in Vietnam and Da Nang officials; and exchanges of expertise between the Command of Navy Region 3 and the crew of INS Satpura.

Also on this occasion, the ship captains will visit the Cham Museum, the Centre for Street Children in Da Nang, music exchange between bands of the Indian vessels with the art troupe of Military Zone 5. Specifically, 90 children of the Centre for Street Children will be visiting the Indian naval ships.

Following are some images of the four Indian naval ships which docked at the Tien Sa Port in Da Nang:

 The guided missile destroyer INS Satpura (F48) is 143 meters in length, 17
meter in width, has a tonnage of 5,300 tons and runs at speeds of up to
 32 nautical miles per hour, carrying 50 officers and 350 sailors

 The destroyer INS Ranvijay (D55) has 50 officers and 400 sailors. It is
146.5 meters in length, 15.8 meters in width,
weighing 4,974 tons and
speed of 35 nautical miles per hour

 The logistics ship INS Shakti (A57) carries 30 officers and 200 sailors. It is
175 meters in length, 25 meters in width, with a tonnage of 27,500 tons,
speed of up to 20 nautical miles per hour
