Phat Diem stone cathedral in the northern province of Ninh Binh has a unique design, reflecting the harmonious combination of eastern and western cultural characteristics.
The Phat Diem stone cathedral was built on Phat Diem town, Kim Son district. It is also a combination between Buddhism and Catholicism. Its roof design is curved like that of Buddhism pagodas – Vietnam’s most unique architecture. Another thing is the cross put on a lotus shaped support which looks like Buddhist seating on lotus shaped support. It can be considered among the world’s most unique architecture.
