One part of Truong Son Trail in Nam Giang district of the central province of Quang Nam that faced serious attacks during the resistance war against the American imperialists for national independence will become an attractive tourist site in 2014, with the highlights of A-frame shelters, trucks and Hoang Cam cooking fire.

Accordingly, 1.3 kilometres of Ho Chi Minh Trail in Ca Dy commune are being restored for tourism, based on a project of the Quang Nam provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism worth VND7.5 billion.

The construction is designed to be close to nature. Three old trucks used during the war were brought from a museum, being kept in their original condition and placed by the side of the road.

Apart from this part of the trail, Nam Giang district is expected to develop tourism around Grang Waterfall, Zara brocade weaving village, Nam Giang traditional house, gongs performance and Co Tu ethnic minority people’s traditional dances, and typical unique food in the region.

Nguyen Ngoc Toan, an officer from Nam Giang district Department of Culture and Information, said that the tour will include visiting the historical Truong Son Trail, and the traditional house where production tools, cloth weaving tools and traditional musical instruments have been collected over the past 60 years. After that, tourists will have a rest at noon in Pa Ya village to enjoy Co Tu ethnic minority people’s unique tastes.

The tour is expected to be open in 2014.
