An exhibition of maps and documents confirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Spratly and Paracel Archipelagos took place on July 9 at the Vietnam Military History Museum at No. 28A Dien Bien Phu Street, Hanoi.
Speaking at the exhibition, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Do Quy Doan said that exhibits and documents at the exhibition, entitled “Vietnam’s Spratly and Paracel Archipelagoes – Historical evidence”, presented evidence confirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos.
This was a chance for Vietnam to send a message to friends all over the world as well as the Chinese people that for many generations, Vietnamese people have protected their sovereignty over the two archipelagos in a spirit of solidarity, friendship and respect for international law, he added.
This was also a chance to send gratitude to people and soldiers across the country and overseas Vietnamese for collecting, keeping and presenting exhibits and documents for the exhibition being held, being extremely precious documents for today and the next generations.
The exhibition is expected to help educate patriotism and awareness of the holy territory of the country among young people, Mr. Doan went on to say.
