Palm-leaf conical hats, peach flowers on the Lunar New Year Festival, old walls, sturdy bicycles and vendors all appear in daily life depicted by the photos of John Ramsden, a British diplomat with an abiding passion for photography.
From 1980 to 1983, he was sent to Hanoi in the role of deputy head of the British diplomatic delegation of the British Embassy in Vietnam, and his photos offer a unique window into that time period.
