On August 4, the boat BP H29 which sank on Friday evening carrying 30 people, was brought to the Vietnam – Czech Joint Stock Company after being raised out of the river.
The boat, owned by the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Coast Guard, was making the hour-long trip from the coast of Tien Giang province to Vung Tau city and was 10 kilometres from shore when it sank on Friday evening in strong winds and high waves near Can Gio District.
The death toll rose to nine in the shipwreck off the coast of southern Vietnam over the weekend, authorities said Monday.
The last body was recovered early Monday, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Pham Long Bao, Head of Can Gio District Coast Guard, said.
