Vietnam, Japan mark 40 years of diplomatic ties

(CPV) – On the occasion of 40th year since the establishment of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic ties (21 September 1973 – 21 September 2013), from September 19-23, the Vietnam – Japan people's friendship festivals were held with diverse activities in Hanoi, Vinh Phuc and Quang Ninh provinces.

 To Huy Rua, a Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Head of the PCC Commission for Organization, and President of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Parliamentarians Group; former Japanese Prime Minister Murayama Tomiichi; Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Tanizaki Yasuaki; President of the Japan – Vietnam Friendship Association Furuta Motoo; and organizations and people from the two countries attended the events. 

 

 Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai delivered a speech at the ceremony to mark 40th year of diplomatic ties and open the 2013 Vietnam – Japan people's friendship festival. 

 

 On this occasion, many conferences and workshops were held to share experience and cooperation potential among the two countries.

On September 20, at the Office of the State President, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan met with Japanese friends.

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan said she hoped that the friendship associations would promote more initiatives to strengthen mutual understanding between people from the two countries, contributing to enhancing the Vietnam – Japan strategic partnership.

Delegates took commemorative photos in front of the Presidential Palace.

On September 21, in Vinh Phuc province, a meeting was held to gather Vietnamese and Japanese delegations.

 Delegates visited Tay Thien Zen monastery and Honda Company, which has invested efficiently in Vinh Phuc since 1995.
