Thanh Ha district in the northern province of Hai Duong has for long been known as the nation’s premier litchi producer. It grows the fruit on over 4,000 hectares, accounting for one third of the province’s total litchi cultivation area.
This year’s litchi output is said to be about 10% higher than that in 2013, but its wholesale price has not changed much at around VND7,500 per kilogram.
