Ba Be Lake – A green pearl of the nature

With charming and poetic scenery, Ba Be Lake appears to be a green pearl in the forest in the northeastern region.

Situated 230 kilometers from Hanoi, Ba Be Lake in Bac Can province is a famous tourist site in the north of Vietnam.

In 1995, Ba Be Lake was recognised as one of 20 special freshwater lakes of the world in need of protection by the World Fresh Water Lake Conference.

Although at the height of 145 meters above the sea level, Ba Be Lake maintains the mixture of blue sky and clouds. The vista is most charming in the fog at sunrise.

Tourists can enjoy the poetic beauty of nature from a dugout canoe - a typical means of transport here.

The dugout canoes have become an impressive sight among the picturesque beauty of the lake.

At present, although dugout canoes are being replaced by speedboats their design is not much different from the original.

Tourists have a chance to experience mixed feelings of excitement, anxiety and pleasure on small boats floating and rocking in the water.

When well seated on the rocking canoes, tourists can expand their view on the peaceful beauty of the surrounding environment.
