Evening classrooms to eliminate illiteracy for ethnic minorities

Since 2013, the Mu Cang Chai district sub-Department of Education and Training in the northern province of Yen Bai has opened 5 pilot classrooms on eliminating illiteracy in La Pan Tan commune with 159 trainees enrolled.

After 9 months, the trainees are fluent in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and good at basic maths.

Since the class opened, Vang Thi My, 42, from Trong Tong village, La Pan Tan has never been absent from any lessons.
