Ha Long bay, situated in the west of the Gulf of Tonkin and the northeastern region of Vietnamese sea, includes 1,969 islands with diverse beautiful caves and spectacular scenery.
In 1994, the bay was recognised as a natural world heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
