The implementation of the program on socio-economic development in extremely disadvantaged communes in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous regions (Program 135) has achieved important results.
Under the program, the central budget has invested thousands of billions of VND for socio-economic development in these areas, with increasing support for production tools and seeds annually.
So far, the poverty rate in extremely disadvantaged communes has been reduced by 5-7% each year, with the average income per capita reaching over VND5 million per year.
The program is continuing its 3rd phase across over 3,000 communes.
