In early morning, afternoon or late evening, small boats always bring special experiences to visitors to Hoi An ancient town.

Hoai river is a tributary of Thu Bon river running through Hoi An.
With the local people in particular and tourists in general, this river is an
inseparable symbol of the ancient town. This small peaceful river is also
intrinsically linked to the livelihoods of the people in the town. Their main
occupation is boating, taking tourists to do sightseeing.

A day on the river usually starts in the early morning. Many visitors
want to enjoy the sunrise, so they often go to the wharf. Therefore,
the local people are always ready to serve visitors.

Visitors usually pay about VND30-50,000 for a 30-minute trip
on the river. However, for a group with large numbers, they have to
 pay about VND100,000.

An attraction here is that the boats don’t use an engine. This helps visitors clearly feel the ancient, simple and natural features.

Not only admire the beauty of Hoi An, tourists also listened to interesting daily stories from boatmen. The sound of paddle in the water amidst the quiet atmosphere, the impression of a peaceful land, rises in each.

In early morning or sunset, you can see small boat carrying visitors.

Or even the nightfall, whenever visitors have demand, boatmen
 are ready to serve.

If you have chance, you should sit on boat on Hoai river in the evening,
especially during a night festival with flower garlands and
coloured lanterns. You can buy a small coloured lantern for
about VND10,000 to release. Together with lights from houses,
the whole wharf becomes a sparkling fairy tale.
