Apart from assisting people in expanding production for poverty reduction, border guards of post 737 in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak open a class to assist the elimination of illiteracy for children in Ia R’ve commune, Ea Sup district where 22 groups live together in disadvantaged condition.

Thanks to the classes, the rate of illiteracy among 12-20 years old has been reduced remarkably.

When the sun is set and domestic work is completed, children come to the guards class.

As children are of different levels, each class has 2 teachers. Sometimes the electricity is lost and the pupils study under candlelight.

Lieutenant Hoang Van Tho teaches pupils how to produce letters.
