Coming to Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district, the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, tourists cannot only enjoy the poetic scenery of the forests and mountains, and drink thousand year old tea but also experience the peaceful life of highland people.

Suoi Giang, the highland commune in Yen Bai province, is situated some 180km from Hanoi and lies at a height of nearly 1,400 metres above sea level. |

It is home to 4 groups, including H’Mong, Kinh, Dao and Tay, of which, the H’Mong account for over 98% of the community. |

The commune is famous for tea trees, some hundreds of years old with diameters of up to 100 centimeters. The trees develop naturally in cool weather all the year round; therefore, despite no care, they grow very fast. |

The ancient tea area lies in Giang Cao, Giang B, Pang Cang, Tap Lang I, Tap Lang II and Suoi Lop villages. |

Tourists can also visit tea hills in lower area and join local residents’ lives in the foot of the mountains. |
