Russian Prime Minister’s visit to Vietnam

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev on April 6th was busy with diverse activities in Hanoi during his official visit to Vietnam from April 5th-7th.

 

 Prime Minister Medvedev was welcomed by a solemn ceremony at the Presidential Palace in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

 
 

 The Vietnamese and Russian Prime Ministers held talks where the two sides agreed to more strictly cooperate in areas of national defence and security. The two Prime Ministers also suggested banks from the two countries to study and propose payment in Vietnamese and Russian currencies in transactions to promote bilateral trade.

 

The two sides confirmed to accelerate the building of the Ninh Thuan No. 1 nuclear power plant as agreed by ensuring security and safety and completely obeying Vietnamese legal regulations on construction investment.

 The two sides agreed that disputes in the East Sea must be addressed by peaceful measures in line with international laws.

 
 

 The two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing of cooperation documents in terms of energy, investment, banking, healthcare and transport before meeting with the media to inform the result of the talks.

 

After meeting National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Prime Minister Medvedev came to greet State President Truong Tan Sang.

After that, Prime Minister Medvedev met Party General Secretary, Nguyen Phu Trong and witnessed the signing of cooperation documents in teh 2015-2017 period between the United Russia Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
