“Millions of arms” – towards flood victims

(CPV) – A music evening entitled “Millions of arms” was held at the Hanoi Cultural Friendship Palace with the aim of calling for the community to help and share difficulties with people in Quang Ninh Province as well as people in the mountainous region hit by the recent floods.

The event co-organised by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vietnam Televisions, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee took place on August 9^th.

Through the music evening, the organizing board received huge supports from individuals and businesses which were sent to the Lao dong Newspaper’s Golden Heart Fund. More than VND12 billion was collected from Vietnam National Petroleum Group (VND5,2 billion); Vietnam JSC Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade – Vietinbank (VND2 billion), Vietnam Electricity (VND1 billion), Vietnam Televisions (VND1 billion)… and over VND600 million was collected on sending messages to 1406.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc, a member of the Politburo and Deputy Prime Minister gave money raised from benefactorsto Mong Duong Coal JSC to help the company mitigate consequences and recover production after floods

Vice President, Nguyen Thi Doan attended the program, encouraging  artists and singers performing for charitable purposes

Mr. Tran Duy Phuong (right), Director of the Lao Dong Newspaper’s Golden  Heart Fund and Editor-in-chief of Lao dong Newspaper received supports from businesses, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and charitable heats across the country to help people in the flooded region to overcome the consequences

Representatives from units presented donor plates for the Lao Dong Newspaper’s Golden Heart Fund to support people in flood regions

Famous artists performed at the program such as Quoc Trung musician and his daughter
