Party leader’s official visit to Japan

 The official reception for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was organised formally with the highest rites.

 Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Japanese Prime Minister saluted the flags.

 Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe invited Party General Secretary, Nguyen Phu Trong to review the guard of honour.

 This was the first official visit by Mr Nguyen Phu Trong as a General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

 Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held talks.

 After the talks, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met with Vietnamese and Japanese press agencies, in which the two leaders exchanged the Vietnam – Japan relationship, showing their pleasure on the positive development of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

 Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed with orientations and measures on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership in the future, with focus on increasing political trust, promoting economic links and cooperation, and promoting cooperation in regional and international issues.

 Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe witnessed the signing of some cooperation documents between Vietnam and Japan.

 On September 15th, the two sides issued a joint declaration, aiming to promoting and deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries, for peace and prosperity in Asia.
