Situated on the bank of the Red River and being consolidated by the rich alluvial land, Dong Du village, Gia Lam district, Hanoi is famous for its delicious guava which is harvested all year round.

The land in the village is good for different kinds of trees, including guava. |
Although the guava trees have fruits all the year round, they provide the greatest number of fruits in July and August. |
As it appeals to the market, many local households plant this kind of guava. Some plant up to 1-2 hectares. |
Mr. Hung who has planted guava for 10 years says that each hectare of guava needs some VND20 million investment. “I pick up hundreds of kilograms of guava for wholesale each morning,” he said. |
The kind of guava is easy to plant. In the afternoon, local residents come to the guava gardens to care for the trees. |
Traders go to the gardens to buy guava for sale in different localities around the country. |
