Lai Chau hydropower plant’s operation welcomes 12th Party Congress

On December 23rd, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung addressed the ceremony marking the initial operation of the first turbine of Lai Chau hydropower plant, which is situated in Nam Nhun district in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau.

capacity of 1,200 MW. The first turbine, beginning operation on December 23rd, has a capacity of 400 MW.
When completed, the Lai Chau hydropower plant will provide 4.7 billion kWh each year to the national grid.
