NA term III (1964-1971) issued important decisive policies to accelerate the struggle against American imperialism in southern
Vietnam and the war in the north, continuing to build socialism, contributing to ensuring the efficient operation of the socialist

NA term IV (1971-1975) encouraged the people and army across the country to build socialism in the north and assist the struggle against
American imperialism in the south. The NA adopted measures to strictly implement the Paris Agreement to overcome the consequences

NA term V (1975-1976), which took place when the country was liberated under socialism, decided on boosting socio-economic

NA term VI (1976-1981) adopted resolutions on renaming the country from the Democratic Republic of Vietnam to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the national flag, the national anthem, and changing the name of Saigon to Ho Chi Minh city. The NA term VI contributed to building the new authority in the south and developed the legal system for the whole country, opening up a new period for national development. NA term VII (1981-1987) issued diverse law-regulated documents to concretise the 1980 Constitution, gradually completing the
legal system, deciding on important issues in terms of economics, society, security, defence, and satisfying the demand for

NA term VIII (1987-1992) in which the 1992 Constitution - the constitution of the renewal process, was adopted at the 11th session.

NA term X (1997-2002) was of increased industrialization and modernization. Laws and ordinances adopted at the NA created
a legal foundation for addressing key issues of society, contributing to the national construction and development. In the picture

NA term XI (2002-2007) continued to institutionalise the Party’s strategies, setting a target to make the country basically become a modern
