The hidden smiles of Vietnam by French photographer

(CPV) - On the International Women's Day (March 8th), the famous photo titled “The hidden smile” by French photographer Rehahn recording the image of great-grandmother Bui Thi Xong was presented to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.
For several years now, French photographer Rehahn travelled across Vietnam and took beautiful pictures. Along the way, his adventures have led to important meetings that have become the main theme of his photographic projects.
On March 8th, the Vietnamese Women’s Museum at 36 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi received
the photographic work of “The hidden smile” from French photographer Rehahn.
“The hidden smile” is the most favored work among more than 5,000 photos on Vietnam
by the author. The work recording great-grandmother Bui Thi Xong – a boat rower in Hoi An.
The photo was published in the Los Angeles Times on December 1st, 2014 and tabled
with a caption “World’s most beautiful old woman”.
Photographer Rehahn shared that Mrs Bui Thi Xong is a symbol of Vietnamese women,
always happy and optimistic despite difficulties.
The connection between France’s Embassy in Vietnam; Ms Bui Thi Xong and her husband
and photographer Rehahn resulted in this meaningful gift to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.
