After the lunar New Year festival, grapefruit flowers are brought to markets in Hanoi, creating a unique beauty in the city’s spring.
The flowers are brought home for decoration, or to mix with tea for drinks.
According to grapefruit planters, flowers are cut from trees to increase the quality of grapefruits in the next season.
Grapefruit flowers are sold at VND25,000-30,000 per bunch.
Many people cannot resist the beauty and perfume of grapefruit flowers.
Le Thi Vuong, a grapefruit grower, said that the flowers can be sold within one month after Tet. “Gardeners often cut flowers from the trees to increase the quality of the fruits,” she said.
Grapefruit flowers decorate Hanoi streets.
The flowers can be added to tea or kudzu soup to increase flavour.
