Performance of bamboo musical instruments of ethnic minority groups

A performance of bamboo musical instruments of ethnic minority group has take place in the framework of activities to mark Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day 2017 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi.
The event drew the participation of artisans from Ede ethnic minority group in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, H’re ethnic group from the central province of Quang Ngai, Thai ethnic group from the central province of Nghe An.
It contributed to the preservation and promotion of traditional musical instruments of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam.
Activities to mark Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day 2017 are taking place from April 19th to 23rd at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay town in Hanoi.
Vietnam has a rich treasure of traditional musical instruments, of which bamboo instruments are the oldest.
Bamboo, a familiar symbol of Vietnamese people’s life and soul, has long been used to create distinctive musical instruments. Simple bamboo instruments are often played at family and communal events and festivals.
