The construction of Bach Dang Bridge helps shorten the distance from Ha Long city to Hanoi from 180km to about 130km and make it easier for tours from the northern region to visit Ha Long bay.

After three years of construction, the 25km long-highway project connecting Quang Ninh province’s Ha Long city
and Hai Phong city was basically completed. In particular, Bach Dang bridge is being built to be put into operation in 2018.

a symbol to connect three key economic cities in northern region of Hai Phong, Hanoi and Ha Long.

The bridge crosses the Bach Dang river from Dong Hai 2 ward, Hai An district, Hai Phong city to Lien Vi commune, Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province, with a total length of 3.05km, width of 25m for four lanes allowing speeds of up to 100km per hour.

The bridge can withstand earthquake level 8. The highest bridge span is 99.74m and
the two remaining spans is 94.5m with four pairs of cable made of special steel imported from Italy.

The bridge helps connect the economic triangle of Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, the distance
from Ha Long to Hanoi is reduced from 180km to 130km and the distance from Ha Long to Hai Phong from 75km to 25km.

Nguyen Duc Long, Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, said that this work
has great significance for the development of the province when it is easier to travel to Hai Phong and Hanoi.

According to Mr. Long, during the process of construction, the investors,
contractors and supervising units have carefully calculated to ensure the best quality.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Director of the Managing Board of contractor Trung Nam EC,
said that to ensure the quality and progress of the work, the contractor has concentrated human resources and machines to work three shifts a day.
