The trade of fish happens quickly so the fish can be consumed fresh at markets.
Each kilogram of fish such as herring or shad is sold at VND30,000-50,000.
Some shops collecting fish to sell for traders or tourists can handle nearly one ton of fish per day.
Mackerel, the favourite of many tourists in Nghe An, is sold at VND170,000-180,000 per kilogram.
Many locations are arranged to grill fish.
Nghi Thuy ward where there is the most animated fisheries port Cua Lo town, has 135 fishing vessels, including 4 of 800 CV or more, 40 of 450-800 CV, with 800 boatmen and hundreds of fisheries traders. Each year, it collects over 8,000 tons of fish.
