Vietnam made history with its first entrance into the semifinals of the men’s football
event at an ASIAD, with the only goal scored by Van Toan in extra-time at the quarterfinals
Shortly the referee’s whistle, colourful and loud parties were created
on streets across the capital of Hanoi
Every jubilant fan was excited with victory of coach Park Hang-seo
and his young Vietnamese footballers
From streets everywhere, floods of people filled with happiness and pride
moved into the city centre

These images remind one of the eventful atmosphere when young Vietnamese footballers
won the silver medal at the AFC U-23 Championship at the beginning of the year
Foreign tourists shared happiness with Vietnamese fans
The cheerful atmosphere seemed to get even more bustling into the night
Clarinet and drums, pots and pans were used to make an animated atmosphere

After the match finished, traffic police officers were deployed at main areas
to control traffic, avoiding traffic jams
With the support of millions of fans, our young footballers are hoped to gain more confidence
and determination to play against the Republic of Korea (RoK) at 4 p.m on August 29th
