With over 3,000 grape vines, each day, Nguyen Van Thong from Phan commune, Duong Minh Chau district in the central province of Tay Ninh harvests some 500 kilograms of fruits for alcohol production.
The grape vines have been planted on an area of some 4.5 hectares for 10 years.
The grape garden lies next to the foot of Ba Den Mountain.

Grape trees are planted on 2-metre high frames. “I took me about 2 years to learn how to care of the vines,” said Mr. Thong.

Each bunch weighs about 2 kilograms.

According to Mr. Thong, it takes about 2 years for a grape vine to grow and produce fruits.

Grapes are harvested within the 4 final months of a year.

The grapes turn black when they ripen.

Each day, the gardener harvests about 500 kilograms of grapes.

The grapes are used to produce alcohol and grape honey.

Every 3 kilograms of grape produces a liter of alcohol.

The garden attracts thousands of visitors at weekend. Each year, Mr. Thong earns over VND300 million in profit from the grapes.
