Cu Da, handicraft village is known for its long tradition of making vermicelli
Vermicelli making is maintained and developed over many generations
The village citizens make vermicelli all year round, but the busiest time of the year in the village is during October in the build-up to Lunar New Year.
Primary ingredient to make vermicelli is boiled, then rolled out to form thin sheets and then put into dough to be dried outdoors.
Making vermicelli takes many stages and requires skillful, steady hands and meticulousness.
Every day, Cu Da villagers produce about 15 tons of vermicelli. In the later months of the year - wedding season, festival season, and Tet holiday - Cu Da becomes busier than ever, producing up to 25 tons of vermicelli each day.
