Unique village fairs in highlands attract tourists

The village fairs in northern Vietnam are always an attractive destination for local and foreign tourists thanks to the unique and diversified culture of ethnic groups.
The authentic and bustling markets attract hundreds of ethnic minority people
dressed in their stunning traditional clothes
The markets have all kinds of goods, including fruits, vegetables, livestock, clothes, fabrics,
rice and corn wine and many other things. Especially, there are markets that mostly
focus on selling one kind of cattle or poultry
Can Cau Market, the biggest buffalo market in the Northern in
Can Cau commune, Si Ma district, Lao Cai
From early morning, people from all communes of the districts such as Bac Ha and
Muong Khuong, Bao Thang, Bat Xat, even from other districts like Sin Man, Ha Giang
province also come for the cattle fair. It is crowded and bustling like a festival
Next to the buffalo market is Can Cau bird market in Sa Mi Cai district
in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai
Can Cau bird market is not only a place to trade or exchange for bird lovers,
but also it is a place to gather, see and listen to birds’ singing
by local people every Saturday morning
The Can Cau Market is a place where people meet, chat, get acquainted,
and also place for young people to find lovers
The Meo Vac cow market is in the central district of Meo Vac, which is the biggest
cow market in the northern mountainous provinces
It convenes every Sunday, showcases the unique cultural identity
of the Mong, Dao and Lo lo ethnic groups
Approximately 40 cows are traded in a single market session
Many people bring their fighting cocks to the market for sale
Fierce fights
Every Sunday, the horse market also opens in Bac Ha Town in the
northern mountain province of Lao Cai
Hundreds of horses are sold at the market
Puppies are also sold at the market
