People in Chuong village in Thanh Oai district, Hanoi, are closely connected with conical hats. Despite ups and downs, the production of conical hats has been passed down from generation to generation, making them the traditional product and a unique characteristic of the village.
Craftsman Nguyen Van Tuy, who has spent nearly 50 years producing conical hats, says it is a painstaking process to make a hat, from choosing and treating materials, to arranging the leaves and sewing them together.
The industry is passed to younger generations.
Tourists are fond of conical hats.
