The Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups in Thai Nguyen city is a convergence space that preserves historical and cultural documents, serving as a "common home" for the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.
Founded in 1960, the Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups in Thai Nguyen spans nearly 40,000 square meters. It is a significant establishment that collects, preserves, displays and introduces important documents about the history and cultural identity of the ethnic communities across Vietnam.
The museum's main entrance features a statue of President Ho Chi Minh and a large relief depicting the community of Vietnam's ethnic groups.
The first exhibition space is a comprehensive display of the cultural aspects of Vietnam's ethnic groups, presented through various forms such as paintings, photographs and artifacts.
Next, visitors can explore the cultural, living, working and traditional spaces of the Kinh people in the northern delta and midland regions.
Adjacent to this is an exhibit showcasing stones from Vietnam's archipelagos.
In the museum's outdoor space, the unique cultural and architectural features of the Central Highlands' ethnic groups are displayed, including communal houses, gongs and grave houses.
At the end of the outdoor space, the distinctive architecture and culture of the southern region are highlighted.
Parallel to the main museum building, the right side of the outdoor space features the architecture and culture of the Cham and Khmer ethnic groups.
The Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups in Thai Nguyen also hosts professional exchanges, cultural interactions among agencies, units and localities nationwide.
It is an ideal space for cultural, literary and artistic experiences and exhibitions.
