First flight brings Vietnamese citizens home safely from Ukraine

A Vietnam Airlines flight carrying 287 Vietnamese people leaving Ukraine arrived at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport at noon on March 8.

Most of Vietnamese in Ukraine safely evacuated: official

Departing from the Romanian capital city of Bucharest, it is the first repatriation flight arranged and fully funded by the Government of Vietnam to bring home Vietnamese living in war-ravaged areas in Ukraine.

Vietnam Airlines has built a plan to operate from destinations in neighboring countries of Ukraine, and Romania is one of them.

“Vietnam Airlines is very honored and proud to contribute to the Government to bring the first Vietnamese citizens in Ukraine back home in time and safely,” said Le Hong Ha, Vietnam Airlines General Director. “We are ready to carry out the next flights to pick up citizens in Ukraine under the direction of the Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport."

Leaders of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcome overseas Vietnamese.
