Phuoc Tich ancient village develops green tourism
Phuoc Tich ancient village national relics in Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district, the central province of Thua Thien Hue, has become a destination to visit and experience for many domestic and international tourists. The local government is also promoting the construction and development of green-oriented tours and tourism products.
Phuoc Tich ancient village is located along the O Lau River, with many shady ancient trees and a typical system of ancient Ruong houses, which has become an interesting tourist destination for many tourists.
Tourism services in the ancient village mainly focus on cultural products and local cuisine. Tourists can study history and ancient architectural works, experience Phuoc Tich pottery making, participate in traditional activities of the people in the village, make cakes, participate in traditional folk games, and ride bicycles to admire the green countryside.
Phuoc Tich has 26 ancient Ruong houses over 100 years old and many traditional architectural works typical of clan churches. The old houses with three compartments and two wings were built in the space of the green garden, creating a highlight for visitors to visit and immerse themselves in the green space of nature. In addition, relics such as more than 500-year-old Cay Thi Temple, the wharf along the O Lau river, and the pottery kiln in Phuoc Tich are also indispensable in the sightseeing journey of tourists. In particular, behind the ancient village, there is a large space of Ha Tri lotus pond, decorated and developed like a white lotus from the Hue Imperial Citadel, which is an interesting check-in and experience destination for visitors.

Tourism activities in Phuoc Tich are oriented to develop green tourism. Tourists walk or travel by smart bicycles to places of food service business, selling souvenirs, selling clean agricultural products and local specialties without using plastic bags, but using paper bags or environmentally friendly materials. Along the roads connecting to the attractions, the Institute of Monuments Conservation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has also installed 40 sorting trash bins and garbage collection trucks, built public toilets suitable for the landscape space of the ancient village. The program aims to protect the environment and landscape in Phuoc Tich, aiming to build a green-clean-light tourism environment.
