(CPV) – Residents in Tu Van Village, Le Loi Commune, Thuong Tin District, Hanoi, have long kept the job of sewing the national flag, with pride in being the place to contribute the first national flags in the days of the August Revolution and the forest of flags on the historic Ba Dinh Square on the National Day of September 2, 1945.
The red flag with a yellow star was born and first appeared in the Nam Ky uprising (1940), becoming the national flag of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in September 1945.
In Tu Van Village, some families still maintain the craft of making national flags handed down from the 40s of the last century.
Tu Van Village is proud of being a place to contribute the first national flags in the days of the August Revolution and the forest of flags on the historic Ba Dinh Square on the National Day of September 2, 1945.
To make a standard flag, Tu Van villagers must ensure strict requirements for the product.
When sewing national flags, Tu Van villagers are very meticulous and careful.
The silk used to make the flags is often bought from Nam Dinh Province or Ha Dong silk village.
Tu Van villagers are also proud to have made very large national flags hanging on top of Lung Cu flagpole in Ha Giang, or flags serving important national and international sports events.
In addition to the national flag, many localities and units also come to Tu Van to order flags for events and emulation movements.
The flags from Tu Van Village will flutter over offices, schools, hospitals, factories, construction sites, borders and islands. The national flag-making profession here has contributed to spreading a feature of cultural beauty of Vietnam's national flag.
