Notre Dame Cathedral in District 1 is the largest gathering place for people to have fun and celebrate Christmas in Ho Chi Minh City. Although it is being restored, this Christmas, Notre Dame Cathedral still sparkles thanks to its "new clothes".

| The restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral began in 2017 and since then, a 27m high frame has been erected, surrounding the entire building to serve construction work. Initially, the restoration was expected to be completed in 2023, however, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project completion schedule changed. Accordingly, importing some raw materials from Belgium, France and Germany for repair and restoration meet difficulties. It is expected that by 2027, the restoration will be completed. The restoration project is invested by the Archdiocese of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). |
