Thousands of people flock to bread festival on first day of opening

The bread festival attracted thousands of people and visitors to enjoy on the first day of opening on March 30. The festival is jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association and the City Department of Tourism.

| Vietnam Bread Festival 2023 is a cultural event to promote and honor the image of Vietnamese people’s favorite dishes to international tourists and friends. |

| According to the organizers, this year’s festival gathers 120 stalls with the participation of 84 leading restaurants, bakeries and food suppliers in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country. |

| “When I joined the bread making festival, I felt very excited. At the same time, through the festival, I hoped that I would have the opportunity to exchange, learn and contribute to honoring the image of bread for tourists and international friends," Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai (right), a chef from Hai Phong shared. |

| In spite of this being the festival's first iteration, it attracted thousands of residents and visitors on the first day of opening. |

| After the kick-off ceremony, a lot of people and tourists took advantage of standing in line at the stalls to buy themselves a loaf of bread full of their favorite flavors. |

| With not enough seats to eat, many people had to sit at cafes inside the Youth Cultural House campus to enjoy bread. |

| “Despite the difference in processing, no matter what region, Vietnamese bread always satisfies even the most demanding diners,” a female tourist said. |

| Most of the bread at the festival is prepared by numerous chefs, and each stall has a version with a different flavor, depending on the filling inside. |

| In addition, visitors can also experience many special activities such as performing and introducing 105 dishes with bread, enjoying bread at the oven, and witnessing and enjoying different kinds of breads made with Vietnamese vegetables./. |
