Vietnam Cultural Week in Tehran opens

The Vietnamese Embassy in Iran opened the Vietnam Cultural Week in Iran on December 24th at the Opera in the capital Tehran.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Iran opened the Vietnam Cultural Week in Iran on December 24th at the Opera in the capital Tehran.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran Nguyen Hong Thach affirmed that culture is the shortest way between hearts. The cultural week will help Vietnamese and Iranians become closer to each other and better understand each other, as well as help the bilateral relations further develop.

Representing Iranian people, Mr. Ghodrat Ali Heshmatian, Chairman of the Association of Iranian Parties, emphasized the sentiment of Iranian people towards Vietnam from the years of war until today, and welcomed the initiative of the Vietnamese Ambassador in organizing the Vietnam Cultural Week in Iran.

Director of the film project "Heaven is not far" of Iran on Vietnam’s tourist sites, and Director Andrian Jelveh also introduced the filmmaking process of the delegation and their impression on Vietnam’s landscape. They also explained why the film is called "Heaven is not far," which means that Vietnam is a paradise of landscapes and it is not too far from Iran.

Iranian art lovers are very impressed with the sound of the monochord, the klong put, T’rung, two-chord fiddle, 16-chord zither and flute, together with folk songs of Quan Ho Bac Ninh performed by Vietnamese artists.

At the event, 20 large photos of landscapes and daily life of Vietnamese people taken by Vietnamese and Iranian photographers were displayed.

The event is organized until December 29th in Iran’s four cities of Shiraz, Esfahan, Tabriz, Kashan and Kish island./
