Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Education, Youth and Sport Department of Phnom Penh Uk Channtha highly appreciated the effectiveness of the teaching program at the school.

He affirmed that the school has equipped students with basic knowledge and skills, meeting the standards of Cambodia’s education sector, and that the school has actively contributed to educational universalization program and improving teaching quality in Phnom Penh.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Quang Minh praised teachers and students of the school for making efforts to overcome difficulties to fulfill their task, helping Vietnamese origin students better integrate into Cambodia’s educational system and society.

The Ambassador believed that the school will continue to well combine Khmer-Vietnamese bilingual teaching programs to help the students understand the origins, cultures and histories of both Vietnam and Cambodia, and become a reliable address to attract more Vietnamese origin students.

In the 2018-2019 school year, the Khmer-Vietnam Tan Tien friendship primary school has about 550 students.

In spite of facing various difficulties, the Khmer - Vietnam Association, overseas Vietnamese, sponsors and teachers try to maintain enough classes for students from pre-school to grade 5, creating the opportunity for students to study higher classes at public schools of Cambodia and Vietnam./.
